FAQs

What is a typical school visit like?

During a school visit, Carmen will do three 45-minute storytelling sessions with about 150 students per session. If you have specific stories or themes you would like Carmen to focus on during her visit, we can certainly work that out. She is also happy to sign books for students and staff. To get more information about scheduling and fees, please contact Carmen’s manager, Lisa Eister, at DeedyBooking@gmail.com

I would like to order books for my school visit. Should I contact the publisher or a local bookstore?

The best thing to do is to contact the Sales Department at Peachtree Publishers. They can sell books to you directly, or help get you set up with a local bookstore to handle sales for your event. You can reach them at 404.876.8761 ext 123 or e-mail them at Sales@peachtree-online.com

Whom do I contact about having Carmen perform at my storytelling festival?

Carmen is currently taking more time off to write, so she is only performing at one or two full festivals a year. However, she is available for one night evening shows (60-90 minutes) at your festival. For booking, scheduling, and fees, contact her manager, Lisa Eister, at DeedyBooking@gmail.com.

Does Carmen speak at conferences and universities?

Yes! Carmen is available for keynotes, but also workshops and panels. We can tailor programs to the needs of the conference. Please contact Carmen’s manager, Lisa Eister, at DeedyBooking@gmail.com for booking, scheduling, and fees.

Speaking of workshops, are you giving any writing workshops any time soon?

Thank you for asking! Yes, we are planning on doing two writing workshops in July 2012 over long weekends. Check back for more details. If you would like to be added to our mailing list to receive information about upcoming workshops, please e-mail Carmen’s manager, Lisa Eister, at DeedyBooking@gmail.com.

I would LOVE to get my books signed. How can I make that happen?

You are welcome to bring any books you would like signed to any public event that Carmen will be at, or to your school, if Carmen will be visiting it. If you would like to send a book to Carmen’s office with return postage, she can sign it for you and mail it back. Please keep in mind this can take some time, as Carmen is often on the road with work.
