We are so excited to be heading to Santa Ana, CA this weekend, July 23, 2016 (1:00 p.m.) for family story time in the Kidseum and July 24, 2016 (1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.) for a special lecture at the Bowers Museum, The Power of Story in a Cyber World.
During her lecture, Carmen “…will discuss the critical role stories can, and must, play in the lives of today’s children who are bombarded with all manner of entertainment and instruction––increasingly delivered via technology. Yet, the more high-tech we become, the more our carbon-based life forms will yearn for the arts of the senses. Storytelling is what is most human about us and our children need its humanizing, empowering, connecting power now more than ever.”
These programs are generously sponsored by Danny and Anne Shih in partnership with OC Public Libraries.
The lecture will be taking place in the Norma Kershaw Auditorium, with a book signing to follow. You can buy tickets for the lecture HERE.
Storytelling on Saturday is free with your admission to the museum. Bring your OC Public Library, Whittier, Cerritos or Santa Ana Library card all weekend (July 23 and 24) and receive half off Kidseum admission!
